What is the Fertility Window, and how does it work?

An egg can only be fertilised in the next 24 hours after a woman ovulates.

A sperm can survive in the body of a woman for up to 6 days.

As a result, the fertility window starts 6 days before ovulation and ends the day after ovulation.

The woman may become pregnant if the couple has unprotected sexual intercourse 3 days before she ovulates.

However, if sexual activity occurs four days after she ovulates, the chances of pregnancy are small.
