There are minimal risks associated with intrauterine insemination (IUI). A few of the risks of IUI are as follows:
IUI cycles sometimes result in the ovaries producing more than one egg. This can lead to multiple births if both eggs are fertilized.
Taking too much fertility medication can cause this side effect. The ovaries become painful and swollen due to OHSS.
Vaginal bleeding is possible after the procedure.
There is also a small risk of infection after IUI.
