When a women is pregnant, she produces a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG).

In pregnancy, it is released by the placenta and can be used to determine the stage of the pregnancy.

Types of HCG Test

There are two types of HCG tests: –

Qualitative HCG test

The doctor may use a qualitative HCG test to determine whether you are pregnant.

If a woman is pregnant, the HCG level rises after the embryo’s implantation.

02.

Quantitative HCG test

This test provides valuable information about the miscarriage symptoms after conception in the first few weeks.

A quantitative test is also called a beta HCG test.
